Planting Energy
My whole life, I have been living in cities, and each time I visit a new one, my interest is to find a piece of pure nature there. When I started exploring cities as an urban planner, I have decided to create a concept of bringing nature into the city through sustainable design.
The object is constructed with slabs and columns reinforced with the metal frame. The material used - is an eco-friendly concrete, what follows the principles of sustainability.
Wooden stairs shape an elevation system, which makes open upper spaces accessible.
A complex of arches creates an unusual experience of the ground floor wherever Planting Energy is constructed - in natural environment or within an existing urban fabric.

There is an existing technology that allows for generating electricity with living plants at practically every location where they can grow and water is abundantly available. Plant-e technology is based on natural processes and is safe for both plants and the environment.

To provide plants with the needed amount of water, there is a specific mesh above the planter. It uses the principle of Warka Water that enables to capture rain, harvest fog and dew, which then roll down to the soil.

To save produced energy, which is not used at a time, there is a system of accumulators within the construction.
Complex of arches, which carries loads from the upper structures, serves also another function by hiding accumulators inside.

Connect accumulators with the planter-system and use generated energy.
The project was in the top-10 shortlist at the Young Architects Competition presented within the Canactions Architecture Festival 2017.
